“I want this bill to pass. But the committee studying it should clearly define the new powers it gives to officials. Businesses need to know exactly how these new rules will work.”

I believe that, at the committee stage, it would be useful for Parliament to clarify the powers of the president as outlined in clause 17 and clause 19, the purview of those powers, to make sure there is clarity for the Canadian economy in the conduct of the proposed new preventative measures and the risk-based approach applied in Bill S-3.”
