“Small business owners tell me that too many rules keep them from succeeding. How should we balance cutting red tape with protecting consumers?”
“Madam Speaker, when I am in my riding, I hear a lot of small business owners say that they cannot succeed or get ahead because there is so much red tape and there are so many rules. They cannot even sell a loaf of bread without all of these regulations. I am curious if the hon. member would like to speak to how we need to strike a balance among reducing red tape, having a deregulated economy and, at the same time, protecting consumers and Canadians.”
