“Fifteen young people are suing the federal government for hurting their future by not cutting greenhouse gases. Instead of listening, the government wants to pass this bill to build pipelines by going around environmental rules. This locks us into fossil fuels for at least 50 years. The government should change course instead of fighting these young people.”
“Mr. Speaker, 15 young people aged 26 or younger are suing the federal government. They accuse the government of jeopardizing their future by failing to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Prime Minister has answered them by tabling Bill C‑39, which seeks to build pipelines by circumventing environmental standards. His response is to lock them into fossil fuels for at least 50 years. Young people are right to say that the Liberals are jeopardizing their future. Instead of fighting these young people, why do they not correct course?”
