“Businesses in my riding make 3-D aerospace parts, test self-driving vehicles, and build drones. These technologies can be used by both regular businesses and the military.”
“Mr. Speaker, when my colleagues came to the Lower Laurentians this summer, I did indeed take the opportunity to tell them about all the opportunities we enjoy, but we did not have enough time to visit all the businesses. We did visit Abipa. What makes this company unique is that it produces 3-D parts. In the aerospace industry, it is much easier and safer to build moulds for parts, since only one part is required. We also went to Blainville to visit the test tracks, where the range of all vehicles, including autonomous vehicles, is tested. That is not all, for there is also the development of drones and all sorts of autonomous vehicles, such as personal watercraft, quads and drones used to deliver medication. They will have dual-use applications, in both the private and defence sectors.”
