“The Conservatives are wrongly attacking people's character. Not every public appointment is purely political. Our government is focused on getting our military the equipment it needs.”
“Mr. Speaker, it is shameful that Conservative members stand in their places and prefer to continue with character assassinations. If we take a look at Quebec hydro or the Ontario health system, we will find that the CEOs are very compatible. In fact, they might even be more compatible than what is being suggested here. Is the member suggesting that everyone’s appointment to either a federal Crown corporation or a provincial Crown corporation is strictly a political, partisan appointment? If that is the case, I suggest the member needs to realize that things have changed since the last federal election, when Canadians chose a Prime Minister who is moving and pushing to get our Canadian Forces equipped—”
