“Canada has a top credit rating, shared only with Germany in the G7. Investing our money to build the country will make our economy stronger. The Conservatives do not seem to understand that.”
“Madam Speaker, I brought up the issue of Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s, which have given Canada a AAA credit rating, and it is important to note that. Out of the G7 countries, which include France, England, Germany and the United States, all industrialized countries, Canada has a AAA rating. The only other country that has it is Germany. By using Canada’s fiscal position to invest in building Canada, we are going to build a stronger and healthier economy. The Conservatives do not seem to understand that. Using Canada’s fiscal capabilities will make Canada a stronger and healthier country in the long run. Does the Conservative Party not understand the benefits of doing that?”
