“The government now spends more on interest for its debt than it sends to provinces for health care. I want to know if the government will cut its spending so life can be more affordable for Canadians.”
“Mr. Speaker, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer, public debt charges are the fastest-growing major expense and have already surpassed Canada health transfer payments. That means Canadians are paying more to service debt than they receive for health care. Can my hon. colleague think of a few ways the Liberal government could improve the amount of debt? Could it cut back on its spending so that Canadians can live more affordably?”
