“The Prime Minister knows how to game the system and hide debt across multiple places. He did not answer any questions today. I want him to come to a committee to explain himself and properly answer our questions.”
“Mr. Speaker, it is a relevant question, and there is a very simple answer to that. It is that there is probably nobody in this place who knows better how to game the fiscal system than the former central banker in this country. The member is quite right. The Prime Minister is actually putting this on multiple credit cards, and the debt is just mounting. What we are asking is for the Prime Minister to come to a committee and explain himself, not in the 35 seconds that he has in question period. We saw today that there were literally no questions that were answered. That is why we now call it the non-answer period. He can come to committee. He can be accountable, be transparent and allow parliamentarians the oversight, on behalf of Canadians, that they need to get the answers to the questions that we are asking, not avoid the questions.”
