“The investment summit in Toronto was a success. It brought together provinces, Indigenous people, and global investors, with the potential for half a trillion dollars in investment. I believe billions of dollars will come to Canada because of it.”

Mr. Speaker, I think I will save the CPP issue for another day. I am going to provide a comment on the Toronto summit. The Canada investment summit attracted the potential for a half trillion dollars of investment. To give the member opposite a sense of the excitement that was created around this summit, we had the premier of Manitoba there, Wab Kinew. He said that, if somebody wanted to invest in the Port of Churchill, Manitoba would exempt them from paying provincial sales tax. I think there is a wide expectation because this is not just the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister might have been the one who brought everyone to the table, but we have provincial jurisdictions, indigenous people and investors from around the world. I believe there will be billions of dollars of investment as a direct result of that particular summit. It is only a question of time, and I am glad to see that we had so much take-up, in particular from provincial governments.
