“We have already shown $200 billion in government spending that we could cut today. We could cut foreign aid, outside consultants, and wasteful projects that do not deliver results. We should cut this spending and use the money for better projects instead.”

Mr. Speaker, we have already outlined some $200 billion in spending that we could eliminate today. For instance, we could eliminate foreign aid. We could eliminate costly projects, such as the Alto project, that are just going to cost us a totally inappropriate amount of money without delivering results for Canadians. We can talk about all the consultants that the government has spent money on over time. Everywhere we look, we find misuse of funds. There are plenty of areas where we would see a place to cut spending so we could direct that money at better projects.
