“The government is spending more on interest on its debt than on health care. By 2030, that interest will cost $83 billion, while health care transfers will only be $67 billion. Will the government promise that debt interest will never cost more than health care in future budgets?”

Mr. Speaker, the government often says health care is a priority, yet the PBO shows that the debt servicing spending this year already exceeds the health transfers. By 2030, the debt servicing cost will hit $83 billion, while health care transfers are projected to only be $67 billion. Will the Liberal government commit that no future budget will allow the debt charges to exceed the Canadian health transfers?
