“Mr. Speaker, my colleague spoke eloquently about the importance of a first job. I have fond memories of my own first work experiences. It is becoming increasingly difficult for young people to get their first job. When they are late entering the workforce, they acquire less experience and have less financial resources. They also have fewer opportunities to gain the skills they need to get better-paying jobs. Can my colleague explain the long-term consequences of entering the workforce late?”
