“Young people today cannot find a first job, so they reach their twenties with no work experience. I want the member to explain the long-term problems this will cause.”

Mr. Speaker, it was with great pleasure that I heard my colleague mention a program she benefited from in university, because that was when I first had the opportunity to meet her, which was when we were students together. The country we faced then, a number of years ago, which I will not put on the record for both of our sakes, was very different from the one facing youth now. One of the biggest problems I have seen is that young people cannot get a first job, which means employers are looking at 20-somethings with no experience. Can the member speak to the longer-term consequences of that?
