“The government has 20 major projects on its official list, but not one is in Manitoba. Other provinces have between two and eight projects. When will the government start prioritizing major projects in Manitoba?”
“Mr. Speaker, what an embarrassingly out-of-touch response that was from the parliamentary secretary. I asked about specific, tangible, physical projects that the Liberal government is pursuing for my home province, and all the member had to offer was that he visited it one time and had a 30-minute chat with the finance minister at the provincial level. How typical of the out-of-touch Liberals to forget about the province of Manitoba. Here are a couple of facts for the member. According to its own website, there are 20 major projects with the Major Projects Office. How many of those 20 major projects are in Manitoba? Not one. The port of Churchill plus is Manitoba’s only specifically identified initiative, and the government classifies it as a “transformative strategy”, not a major project, with absolutely zero details listed. Meanwhile, other provinces have eight, three or two projects listed. When will the Liberal government and the six Liberal MPs prioritize major projects in Manitoba?”
