“I support anything that helps Canadians. Parents should be the ones making decisions for their children, but they cannot protect them from online algorithms and technologies they cannot control. The government needs to help parents, not replace them.”
“Madam Speaker, multiple times, I have said that the Conservative Party and I will support anything that is going to help Canadians. This is what we have shown in Parliament as well. The problem I am seeing right now is that parental rights and government responsibility are two different things. To answer the member’s question, parents must remain the primary decision-makers for their children, but how can they protect their children from algorithms they cannot see and technologies they cannot control? The government must support parents, not replace them.”
