Madam Speaker, we do not have to look very far, sadly, to see the tragic consequences of what unregulated AI chatbots can do and the damage they can do to the mental health of a young person. There are ways the government could legislate what ability chatbots could have to give advice on specific topics, like, for example, atrocities in public places, mental health issues and suicide. I hate to use that word, but there are ways the government could regulate that through legislation. We are not seeing this bill do that, because the government is leaving it all, apparently, for the commission to decide on after the bill is passed. We would like to see some stricter provisions put into law rather than being left up to the commission, whoever that is going to be, somewhere, someday down the road.
