“I want to thank and congratulate Ellen Crothers. She won a community service award for running a charity in memory of her son, which has collected toys and donations for children in need for twenty years.”
“Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Ellen Crothers, a wonderful volunteer in S, D and G, for her outstanding community leadership and heartfelt service. Ellen was recently named the recipient of the Community Service Award at South Glengarry’s business and community awards gala. Through the Mathew Crothers memorial charity, founded in honour of her son, she has transformed personal loss into lasting support for local families. Her dedication embodies the spirit and community values recognized by the award. Mathew’s Toy Mountain has, for two decades, collected donations and gifts for children in need and supported patients at CHEO. We are looking forward to the upcoming gala on November 7 to support the charity’s work. Mathew’s legacy is certainly being carried on through this vital work by Ellen and a great network of local supporters and donors. I offer congratulations and thanks to Ellen. Mathew would be so proud to know of all the work being done in his memory.”
