“Everyone, including big tech companies, must help protect mental health. No one should be allowed to manipulate someone else's mental health, especially young people who are easily harmed. I will support any measure that protects young people from this.”
“Madam Speaker, I will not repeat what I hear on TV because it would be a little disrespectful, but it was not very pretty. It was a really horrible sound, enough to make me go back to the living room to see what was happening on television. That is all I will say. Concerning my colleague’s question, I think that is a different matter. Where mental health is concerned, I believe that everyone, even the web giants, has a role to play. We cannot allow anyone to manipulate the mental health of another person in any way. We cannot let people who have been manipulated in some way go untreated or without services. This is an important issue made all the worse when young people are involved, because they are even more easily manipulated, and their mental health is more easily affected. I will say yes to anything that will spare young people problems like this. No matter what is involved, I am ready to give it my careful attention.”
