Marilène Gill Bloc Québécois
“We want to debate including people with mental illness in medical assistance in dying, not ban them. We also want to make sure federal rules are not stricter than Quebec's rules.”
“Mr. Speaker, since we are talking about things that the members opposite consider to be vague and uncertain, I will let the Quebec National Assembly have that discussion. I think the Bloc Québécois has been quite clear. The first thing that we are calling for is not to exclude people with mental health issues. We are asking to debate that issue. We are also asking that the federal framework not be more restrictive than Quebec’s framework. That is what we are calling for right now.”
