Students Visiting Parliament

“I want to welcome students from a high school in my riding. Visiting Parliament is the best way for young people to learn how our democracy works.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, today I am very pleased to welcome the students of École secondaire Saint‑Maxime, which is in my riding of Vimy, in Laval. By visiting Parliament, they are getting a wonderful opportunity to learn about the institutions that shape our country and the democratic values that unite us and make our nation free, welcoming and among the most prosperous in the world. Visiting Parliament is the best way for anyone, especially a young person, to truly understand how our representative democracy works. I want to express my gratitude to the staff of École secondaire Saint‑Maxime for their dedication to these young people. I also want to thank all those who contribute to their future success and their growth as responsible citizens. In Canada, everyone can find a place to belong, make their voice heard and achieve their dreams while playing an active role in civic life.
