Cut the red tape and paperwork. Respect what provinces want. Projects are being cancelled because it takes so long to get permits. Hurry up the projects that are waiting now. Don't make them wait any longer. The Major Projects Office won't help. It will still be a bottleneck. That's why we need the changes in our report.”

Mr. Speaker, I am honoured to table our dissenting report, because what we heard at committee was 10 years of wasted time with these Liberals. Our dissenting report goes through the repealing of the Impact Assessment Act to shorten approvals, eliminate red tape and respect provincial jurisdiction. This is very important, because we have heard of many mining projects that have been shelved because of this act. We also, in this report, talk about the fast-tracking of all current mining-related projects stuck in the federal regulatory queue. That is supported by industry. With the Major Projects Office, one witness warned that “looking to attract investment through the bottleneck of the MPO is unlikely to produce the outcomes that we're looking for.” For that and many other good reasons, we submit our dissenting report on what we should do as a nation.

Mr. Speaker, imagine someone who just kept racking up the credit card bill while actively trying to earn less money. That is what the Liberals have spent the last decade doing, as they consistently increase the debt on the national credit card while doing everything possible to keep resources in the ground. Of course, governments and people are different. Governments can keep racking up taxes on families. These families are feeling the pain of higher taxes, higher inflation, higher interest costs and higher stresses on the family budget. Despite the illusions with the Liberal Prime Minister, it is more cost, more taxes, more debt, more on the national credit card and more of the same. He is just another Liberal. When will the Liberal Prime Minister get serious and end his costly credit card budgeting so Canadians can afford to live?
