“Mr. Speaker, first, I want to extend our gratitude to the minister for his efforts yesterday, representing all of Parliament in Wainwright and supporting the Canadian Armed Forces and the families who have been impacted. I know the minister is sincere and wants to get military equipment to our military faster so they have the right equipment. However, there are serious concerns about parliamentary oversight of a Crown corporation. We just heard, right now, that the government gave a contract to a subsidiary of a U.S. company, its Canadian supplier, that is delivering services to ICE on behalf of the Trump regime, and that is unacceptable. No one here, across the country, believes it is acceptable that a foreign company is taking contracts like this. Does the minister agree that this is outlandish and unacceptable? What is he going to do to ensure that this would not happen with what they are proposing here today?”
