Replying to Kevin Lamoureux (Liberal)
“Madam Speaker, it has been interesting as I watch Conservatives stand up. Some will say that they want to get rid of the excise tax on gas permanently. Others will say we should maybe not get rid of it permanently but instead maybe get rid of it until Canada Day. Many of them will say to just get rid of whatever tax we can. I am wondering if the member could provide his thoughts, first, on what the Conservative Party’s position is on the excise tax. Do they want to get rid of it permanently? Second, are there some other taxes they want to abolish that the member should share with the House tonight?”
