Replying to Claude DeBellefeuille (Bloc Québécois)
“Madam Speaker, my colleague spoke at length about businesses and economic matters, but he did not say a word about the loss of purchasing power among seniors. He knows very well that seniors aged 65 to 74 have not received an increase in their old age security pension. They have lost their purchasing power. Does my colleague intend to support Bill C‑261, which I am sponsoring, so that this injustice and inequity between seniors can finally be eliminated?”

Madam Speaker, Claims · 53 wordswith all due respect to my colleague, I think she must have been absent during my speech, in which I spoke about our seniors who worked for 30, 40 or 50 years and paid taxes all their lives. That is exactly what I said in the speech I delivered a few minutes ago.1Partly on point
