Lefebvre consistently argues that the Liberal government spends, borrows, and taxes too much. He points to specific cases of what he sees as government waste, like an expensive lease deal, and expresses concern about the impact of high costs on ordinary Canadians, especially in his home province of Quebec. While light on specific positive proposals of his own, he generally calls for the government to be more fiscally responsible and less interventionist in the economy.
