“Mr. Speaker, my colleague’s speech was very interesting. I always learn something new about Quebec when she speaks. I want to continue to learn more about the communities she represents. I know she has always wanted to learn more about the communities I represent. My question may be simple, but it is sincere. After graduation, many young people in our communities struggle to find their first job. How can the federal government help them?”

Mr. Speaker, Thanks · 23 wordsI thank my colleague, with whom I always enjoy speaking. We worked together again today in committee.1 I congratulate her on her French. Thanks Claims · 100 wordsIn any case, trying to impose a one-size-fits-all approach and interfere with the training already provided in Quebec—with something that is already being done—is certainly not the way to help young people find jobs. At the federal level, there may be programs to help them gain their first work experience. One example is the Canada summer jobs program.2 However, I have also discussed many other work-related measures to help young people cope with the cost of living and find housing.Partly on point These are areas of jurisdiction for Quebec that could help them relocate to where jobs are available within their province.3 Reasoning · 53 wordsThe government has allowed the economic situation to deteriorate.Partly on point Maybe one way to help young people would be working to resolve this tariff crisis, because it creates uncertainty for businesses, 4which ultimately may have to let people go. In this climate of uncertainty, young people are often the first to be laid off. Claims · 19 wordsWe have a Prime Minister who has adopted an “elbows up” attitude and who promised to resolve the situation.5Partly on point Reasoning · 22 wordsClearly, if there were an agreement in place and less economic uncertainty, there would likely be far more jobs for young people.
