Replying to Pierre Poilievre (Conservative)
“Mr. Speaker, it is no wonder Canadians are out of money. The Liberal government is out of touch. Yes, the farmers in my riding say the single biggest expense this year is the cost of diesel. Some of them are spending $25,000 or $30,000 on diesel. One farmer spends $5,000 a day during the harvest. All of it gets passed on in higher food costs. The Liberal government continues to add 20¢ a litre in taxes. The best way to save Canadians money is to scrap all those taxes. Will the government accept our idea to save farmers, small businesses, seniors and Canadians money?”

Mr. Speaker, I have great news for Canadians and great news for that party across the House. On Thursday, we will table our second generational budget, budget 2026. We will build Canada strong. We will invest in our country from coast to coast to coast. We will make sure nobody is left behind. We will continue with the groceries and essentials benefit and fight for affordability measures for Canadians. On this side of the House, we deliver on affordability. They continue with the rhetoric.
