Replying to Pierre Poilievre (Leader of the Opposition, CPC (Conservative)
“Mr. Speaker, this will be their second generational budget in one year. Canadians cannot afford another generation of Liberal taxes. They are out of money. The member is out of touch to say they have delivered on affordability when food bank demand is up 9% year over year, with 2.35 million record-smashing visits to the food bank and the largest number of people who cannot believe they will never be able to afford a home is in this country, of any of the 22 countries polled by Habitat for Humanity. Why will they not stop wasting time and save Canadians money?”

Mr. Speaker, as always, on that side of the House, it is hands up, no plan and no focus. There is nothing on that side of the House. On this side of the House, we are going to table budget 2026. We are masters of our own destiny. We are going to build Canada strong. We are going to build a strong, resilient economy. We are going to invest and build Canada while looking after those who need help the most. We just paused the excise tax on fuel. We are going to continue to deliver affordability measures for Canadians. That side continues with nothing.
