“Mr. Speaker, I appreciate the member’s comments regarding the different ceremonies that take place across Canada. Sergeant Tommy Prince was a war hero. He was of indigenous background and was looked upon in a very wonderful way. Many of our veterans are buried in the Brookside Cemetery. We could go to the Legion or the Tommy Prince park. I would ask the member to provide her thoughts on how important it is, come November 11 at 11 a.m., that everyone take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our men and women in the forces.”

Mr. Speaker, it is incredibly important that each and every one of us takes the time on November 11 at 11 a.m., as the member stated, to ensure that we pause to celebrate and thank veterans, who have served our country with such distinct honour, and their families, who have made such big sacrifices in them doing so. I will be at the ceremony the Legion puts on in Kanata on that day, and I look forward to thanking the veterans who will be there for their service.
