“Mr. Speaker, it is a totally inadequate response. What we just heard from the parliamentary secretary was more gaslighting. Her answer was very much in line with the ridiculous answer provided by the parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources. Since she will not answer basic questions, such as where the oversight was, perhaps she will answer a very specific question: Why did Mr. Green receive a $1-million golden parachute on his way out the door, and why did the minister fail to disclose this?”

Mr. Speaker, I want to emphasize that there is work under way, and we need to allow the independent auditors to do their work, work that I hope the member will also allow. There is work under way, an internal review of the governance and structure of Infoway. Maybe my colleague did not get the updated QP card from his leader. Canadians deserve a modernized health care system, and we will always make sure that that is built on the best possible information. Allowing for that third-party review and audit to be completed will do that work, and it will give Canadians the confidence that our money is being spent appropriately.
