“Madam Speaker, I appreciate my colleague’s speech on this important issue today. I was particularly interested in the part about health care transfers. It is not a big ask for the provinces in order to provide the health care that Canadians deserve. It does fall under provincial jurisdiction, but they are asking the federal government for health transfers. I would like to know the member’s opinion on the fact that we are spending more taxpayer dollars on servicing our debt than we are on health care transfers in this country.”

Madam Speaker, Procedure · 11 wordsI would like to take this opportunity to say one thing.ProcedureClaims · 52 wordsWe often hear about the desire to build Canada strong, about development and about the need to work together.I find it hard to understand why, when all the provincial and territorial premiers spoke out so loudly, forcefully and unanimously to say that they needed health transfers, it all came to nothing.1Positioning · 20 wordsIt would have been such a great opportunity to show that the government does indeed want to build Canada strong.PositioningPartly on point
