Replying to John-Paul Danko (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, this important bill would be a big step forward for the medical system throughout Canada. It seems that doctors still send faxes, which is basically the equivalent of stapling a piece of paper to the back of a dinosaur. It is kind of crazy how backward the health system can be in Canada. Among the IT interoperability, prohibiting data blocking, protecting access to health information and supporting virtual care, I wonder if there are any specific provisions in the bill that the member opposite sees as being the most helpful for the constituents in his riding.”
