Mr. Speaker, the member started off her statement with a slogan, then condemned the use of slogans. She said “masters in their own home”, then had the nerve to talk about young people. How can young people be masters in their own home if they have no home of their own? Young Canadians cannot afford a home. In fact, Habitat for Humanity Canada surveyed 22 countries and found that Canada had the highest percentage of people who believe they will never own a home. If the hon. member wants young people to be masters in their own home, she should adopt Conservative policies to build housing for young people so they can have a place to call home.
