“Mr. Speaker, my colleague talked about affordability. I know that he is keenly aware that housing is the number one expense for a household. Budget 2026 invests $45 billion in improving the housing supply to tackle all the housing-related issues. This includes recapitalizing Build Canada Homes to build even more affordable housing. We are maintaining the existing programs that support tens of thousands of projects currently under construction, such as the CMHC programs, the infrastructure investments to help build more housing, and the red tape reduction measures. Obviously, the centrepiece of this budget is the investment to end homelessness in 10 years. I wonder if my colleague can confirm that investing in housing is clearly good for Canadians and good for Quebeckers.”
