Gérard Deltell Conservative
“The government has been in power for over a year and still refuses to work with the opposition parties. It only has a majority because members crossed the floor to join it.”
“Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague; his questions are always pertinent. It is indeed a pity that the government, which has now been in office for over a year, has not gone to the trouble of engaging with the opposition parties, which is absolutely essential, particularly in the case of a minority government. That said, for the past few weeks, there has been talk of it being a majority government. It is a defector-led majority. It is a majority government made up of floor crossers. It is funny; I think it sounds quite good in both English and French.”
