Jagsharan Singh Mahal Conservative

“I want to thank the police in Edmonton for a major drug bust. Police need the justice system to support them, but Liberal crime policies have made our streets more dangerous. Conservatives back our police.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the incredible work of the Edmonton Police Service and other law enforcement agencies involved in a two-year-long national drug trafficking investigation. Police seized approximately 80 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of more than $8 million, along with dangerous narcotics, ammunition and cash. This is a serious reminder of the organized crime networks bringing drugs, violence and fear into our communities. I want to thank the officers who put themselves at risk to keep our streets safe. Police cannot do this alone. They need a justice system that backs them up. After 11 years of Liberal soft-on-crime policies and Liberal bills like Bill C-5, our streets are more dangerous. To the police officers in Edmonton and across Canada, know that Conservatives support them. We will keep fighting for safer communities.
