Discussion · Government Orders
Dave Epp Conservative
“The member says she believes her own words and that this government is on the right track. Earlier this year, she said this government abuses its power and shuts down debate. I want her to explain how both statements can be true.”
“Mr. Speaker, the member just responded to my colleague and said, “I believe the things I say.” She also concluded her speech with, “Our new government is on the right track.” I want to read a quote from March 10 of this year: “Mr. Speaker, the motion we are going to vote on today is another example of the government’s overreach and tyranny and of how it always wants to shut down debate, especially when it comes to freedom of expression and freedom of religion.” As for the member’s response of “I believe the things I say,” how does she reconcile those two quotes from herself?”
