“Mr. Speaker, I thank the member opposite for visiting my beautiful riding. As I alluded to in my speech, I absolutely want to see construction move forward. I am happy that the member talked about Churchill Falls. This sort of gives me the opportunity to break down some of the components of that. This is a large announcement and complex. One of the things the government announced in this large project was the Churchill Falls expansion. We have been talking about the Churchill Falls expansion for a very long time. The government’s commitment is only to study the Churchill Falls expansion. In the previous MOU, there was a commitment on construction. On the wind project, there is no proponent or route proposed. Once again, we need the projects now, not commitments to study, but for construction of the projects.”
