“No one can predict future fuel prices because of instability in the Middle East. The government's current plan to lower gas taxes is the most responsible way to handle the budget.”

Mr. Speaker, yes, I would agree. That is one of the reasons why I brought up how there is no one inside the House of Commons who can make a prediction about what the price is going to be in six, seven or eight months with any absolute certainty. That is because of what is taking place in the Strait of Hormuz and in the Middle East in general. The manner in which we are bringing forward the excise tax relief on gasoline is the most appropriate way. It is the responsible way to plan for the budget going into the future.
