“The government changed its mind and now promises to approve building projects quickly. It only used half of our ideas, and it has only approved one project in two years. I will not support this bill until we see real evidence that it works.”

Mr. Speaker, witnessing the government, the old one and the new one, has actually made me appreciate our health care system and its ability to treat whiplash. This government, on the rhetoric side, has gone from supporting carbon taxes, environmental considerations above all others and cancelling seven LNG projects that are on the books, to stating that it is going to move at speeds unheard of. The rhetoric has caused whiplash. The Liberals have actually taken some of our policies and implemented them in half measures. What has not come forward yet is the evidence. We have one project in two years that has been announced, with Chinese steel by the way. Missouri is the show-me state, and as it would say, “Show me the evidence”, after we have properly scrutinized this legislation.
