“Mr. Speaker, I appreciate the question from my neighbour, and I genuinely appreciate him as a neighbour. He is a wonderful MP. That is a good question. However, we must remember that the bill is based on more than 26,000 responses and 78 consultation sessions that took place this summer. These consultations were important and showed us how to move forward with all the projects he mentioned. For me, the fundamental question this evening is simple: Does this bill move Canada in the right direction, and does it enable us to carry out the projects my colleague mentioned? The answer is yes.”
