“The changes to my bill did not ruin it. They are reasonable changes we agreed on in committee. The bill will still create a national plan to help Canadians prepare for floods and droughts.”
“Madam Speaker, I do not feel as though my bill has been gutted. I think these were entirely reasonable amendments that I was able to discuss with the committee members. The goal is really to have a national strategy and to be able to help as many Canadians as possible. That is the direction we are taking with this bill.”
