“We want to make sure Canadian companies build as much of our defence equipment as possible. We are committed to raising Canadian content in our defence spending from 30% to 70%.”
“Mr. Speaker, in our defence industrial strategy, we have three pillars: build, partner and buy. We have to make sure that Canadian companies are involved in the building of the maximum possible quantity of defence equipment and defence supplies. That is the reason we have to make sure that Canadian companies are always at the head of the line when it comes to defence procurement. We have made the commitment to go from 30% to 70% Canadian content in our defence spending. That is something we will definitely adhere to.”
