“High fuel prices hurt British Columbia businesses, especially truckers. Conservatives have always said we should get rid of the carbon tax to help the economy. The Liberals are finally agreeing with us that we need to lower these costs.”

Madam Speaker, that is a great question. We have neighbouring ridings and we are way out at the other end of the country. Transportation is a very big part of what keeps British Columbia and the Vancouver area connected with the rest of Canada. Fuel prices, I think, probably touch us more than anything. I share the frustration that truckers have about high fuel prices that just seem out of control. Their businesses become very difficult to operate. It is not just truckers. It is almost every industry, but it for sure impacts them. What would we do differently? We advocated for cutting the carbon tax because we said it was not helpful for the Canadian economy. I am very happy that the Liberals have finally acknowledged that we had it right all along and that they are now supporting the concept of lowering prices for everybody through reducing or getting rid of the carbon tax.
