Madam Speaker, I can only assume that the member opposite is playing out a scene from the Seinfeld episode “The Opposite”. He stands in this House and gives CBC as an example of openness and accountability, along with Canada Post. At the operations committee, we heard the president of Canada Post tell us at that for five years the government blocked the publication and implementation of its board’s strategic plan. The president stated publicly that the government’s political interference is a big reason that it is losing over $1 billion a year, yet the government wants to use the Canada Post business example as a reason to hand over the reins for defence spending. I think not.
