“Nova Scotia has a large military community and defence industry. Our armed forces and their families need good support and the right equipment on time. I want the member to explain how we can make sure our soldiers get the gear they need when they need it, so they can focus on their jobs.”
“Madam Speaker, Nova Scotia has over 14,000 members of the Canadian Armed Forces and defence families. It is the number three province in terms of the population of our defence community. Nova Scotia has been punching above its weight in terms of the defence industry. The hon. member talked a lot about what we are going to be procuring, but she also talked a little about how it is important to have not only equipment but also supports for the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families. Could she elaborate a little about making sure that we get them the equipment they need when they need it, to make sure that they can focus on the task at hand and not be worrying about whether they have the tools necessary?”
