“The government wants us to pass this bill without asking questions. Our budget watchdog warned that the Prime Minister is hiding debt in government corporations, and he seems ready to keep doing it. We need real answers.”
“Mr. Speaker, the member says that the Conservative Party is trying to find an excuse to vote against this bill. The reality is that the Liberal government wants to hand over a bill for us to blindly approve. Canadians sent us here to ask questions and get answers, answers we unfortunately do not often get. The issue with Crown corporations was clearly laid out by the Parliamentary Budget Officer. She is non-partisan. This is an independent body reviewing our country’s books, and she has raised alarms about the amount of debt the Prime Minister is hiding in Crown corporations. He seems to want to continue to do the same.”
