Mr. Speaker, as the chair of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas, I am delighted to welcome here today in Ottawa a delegation of members of Mexico’s chamber of deputies. ParlAmericas brings legislators from across the Americas and the Caribbean together to strengthen parliamentary dialogue and democratic governance and to build lasting partnerships. Today’s visits builds on the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas delegation’s bilateral visit to Mexico last March, ahead of the joint review of CUSMA, where I had the honour of meeting and engaging with members of parliament from Mexico. That visit provided a timely opportunity to let our Mexican counterparts know the importance of maintaining strong Canada-Mexico co-operation as we look to the future of North American trade and economic integration. Their presence here today is a testament to the strong bonds that exist between Canada and Mexico and to our shared commitment to democracy, dialogue and co-operation. Bienvenida a toda la delegación mexicana en Canadá.
