“I want the House to pass this bill. It protects kids by keeping them away from harmful content, but it still lets them use social media. One in eight children see posts that push hate or violence every day without searching for it.”
“Mr. Speaker, young people will still be allowed to use social media and other platforms. Bill C-34 will simply make the use of those platforms less harmful to children. We are protecting them by limiting their access to certain content. According to Statistics Canada, one in eight children see content that incites hatred or violence every day without even searching for it, which is why it is so important to move forward with Bill C-34.”
