“I support this bill to protect soil health. Healthy soil is vital for growing food and feeding people across the world.”
“Mr. Speaker, my colleague is a beef farmer, has restored the soil on her property and is an ardent champion of agriculture in Ontario. We talk a lot about the importance of agriculture. There was a lot of battling over who else would be able to speak to second reading of this private member’s bill. I think that when we are in a centre of agricultural excellence, when we are surrounded by farmland and when we understand what this would mean to our food security and our ability to feed the world, we cannot help but be extremely passionate about the topic.”
